It started in 2007, long before local SEO was mainstream.

We built one of the first agencies that measured SEO by outcomes instead of rankings and traffic. That was unusual at the time. Most of the industry sold reports full of vanity metrics. We wanted to know whether the phone rang and whether the register moved.

In 2017 we launched Foottraffik, the first cannabis-focused SEO company. Cannabis was the hardest search problem we had ever seen: banned from paid ads, suppressed on most platforms, and buried under compliance rules that scared off every standard agency. We scaled it across dispensary markets nationwide and exited in 2021, having proven that the outcome-first model held up in the toughest vertical there was.

One thing became clear through all of it. Businesses in regulated industries did not need another agency. They needed a system built specifically for them, one that understood platform restrictions, compliance, and how to drive revenue anyway.

Nearfront was founded in 2023 to be that system. We operate out of downtown San Diego and serve clients across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, all with the same outcome-first methodology we have refined over nearly two decades.
